Grass Valley Puts the Focus on Production at Broadcast Video Expo 2010

At the 2010 Broadcast Video Expo, Grass Valley™ will demonstrate the latest technology to show how HD and even HD 3D can be created affordably without compromising production values or technical quality. The stand will include the remarkable new Kayenne™ Video Production Center as well as cameras and servers.

The Grass Valley Kayenne is the world's most powerful production switcher, developed in response to requests from OB van operators and studios around the world. It includes six keyers on each M/E bank – and up to 4.5 M/E in a single switcher – together with 20 channels of DVE. Its flexibility means that one operator on one Kayenne switcher can deliver a 3D and a 2D version of the same show simultaneously.

The K2 Summit™ production client server and K2 Dyno™ replay controller form a radical new approach to instant replay. In a very affordable package they give you fast and intuitive access to content and replays in live television, including variable speed HD replays. For bigger operations there is the K2 Dyno Production Assistant client/server software running on an Ethernet control network which allows you manage the replay clips collected by multiple Dyno Replay Control systems, transfer highlight clips between Dyno systems, and turn highlight packages into Final Cut Pro edit decision lists.

The LDK Series camera family from Grass Valley remains the industry leader and a selection of cameras will be on display. The family includes the LDK 8000 Elite WorldCam with fiber transmission, the world’s first and only camera to deliver 1080p from the basestation as well as the market's most successful super slo-mo solution (1X/2X/3X), the LDK 8300 with its unique AnyLight™ function to eliminate flicker when used under artificial lighting. Also on display will be the new LDK 3000, the first member of the systems camera family to use the Grass Valley Xensium™ CMOS sensor, providing excellent high-contrast HD pictures at a very affordable price point.

As well as the Grass Valley stand at BVE 2010, other Grass Valley products will also be on display at various partner locations. Solutions for professional videography and AV applications, including the EDIUS® editing platform, the new T2™ iDDR (intelligent digital disk recorder) and the MEDIAEDGE® video distribution system, will be shown by distributor Holdan on stand H10. EDIUS will also be shown by Canon (E34).
