Full Programme Synopsis

Effective facility planning and implementation with high-end SDI physical layer analysis.

Current facility upgrades need to take into account the trend to higher transmission speeds in the SDI distribution network. It is essential to ensure today´s investments will deliver the platform to create state of the art content, have a future proof technical foundation and will work with just enough headroom to ensure flawless operation.  Understanding the limiting factors in achieving longer cable runs and assessing the performance of SDI transmitters and receivers is the cornerstone of a well functioning operation. Reducing the complexity of certain measurement procedures by clever automation improves the understanding of the technical requirements and significantly enhances the bargaining power in critical purchase negotiations.

Who should attend: Chief Engineers and General Managers of post production and production facilities.

New Gamut displays for Colour Correction

Using vectorscopes to identify colour vectors for isolation and adjustment is limited by the inability to assess the corresponding luma value from the reading. Luma Qualified Vector (LQV) allows user defined luma ranges to be selected when isolating skin tones or specific colours for changes or enhancements. When making colour saturation adjustments in the final stages of correction, a reliable measurement device was lacking to produce repeatable results for TV series for example. A new display is available that allows the assessment of saturation values for images and scenes, which will help the colourist to benchmark more efficiently against previous jobs.

Who should attend: Video colourists and editors using sophisticated colour correction tools producing for cinema and TV.

Practical implementation of Cerify file based QC in Production Workflows.
This session focuses on real world QC issues in the production process and how to address them with Cerify file based testing tools in cooperation with partners and system integrators.  Sample workflows will be discussed and a live presentation will demonstrate how to integrate an automatic QC tool into workflow control systems and how it interacts with other components of an automated production process.

Who should attend: Broadcast Engineers, Chief Engineers and General Managers of post production and production facilities.
